Dr. Stefan Carsten is a futurologist and mobility researcher with heart and soul. He has been addressing the future of mobility as an advisor, writer, speaker, and curator for over 20 years.
Dr. Carsten spent 17 years at Daimler Research & Technology, contributing to the Group’s groundbreaking transformation from a car company to a mobility group. While there he wrote the initial concepts for what would later become the carsharing venture Car2Go and the MaaS pioneer moovel.
He then moved to academia, where he was a visiting professor for Transportation Design at the Free University of Berlin, the University of Applied Sciences in Stuttgart and at the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts.
Today, Dr. Carsten is a member of the expert advisory board on strategic guidelines for local public transport in Germany of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. Additionally he is part of the advisory boards of the IAA Mobility in Munich as well as of the Radbahn in Berlin.
